Regional and National Support
Our headquarters are in Nottingham closed junction 26 of the M1 motorway and with our team of regionally based service engineers, provide cover throughout the UK. Start Secure Ltd is a TecServ UK company operating out of the same premises and handles our security alarms, CCTV and access control systems. We also supply and maintain portable fire extinguishers and hose reels.

Solving problems has opened many doors, it has made us “special “and has allowed us to work with prestigious organisations helping to provide opportunities that would not present themselves if our service and our knowledge was ordinary. Our knowledge has helped clients to improve the management of their alarms, it also reduces costs and it is in this particular area that we have been extremely successful.
Reducing Costs
With the generally gloomy financial outlook, many organisations are looking closely at their costs. A number of the large household names that provide fire protection in this country pay their engineers a very low basic wage (somewhere in the region of £7,000.00 per annum) they then receive commission payments of 10% of their monthly invoicing. Disappointingly customers often find that equipment is being changed unnecessarily, often at prices that are three times higher than the manufacturers recommended retail price.

We work closely with and advise the National Trust and English Heritage on the protection of listed and historic buildings, my colleagues and I have probably protected more historic buildings in the last decade than any other single organisation in the United Kingdom.
Technical Excellence

Although the majority of our turnover comes from the installation of analogue addressable systems, we are also specialist in CCTV, access control and radio based wire-free installations (fire and security).

Unwanted alarms can be extremely disrupting and costly to an organisation such as yours. Understanding why these occur and then learning how to prevent them has become a speciality of TecServ UK Ltd, we have been able to assist many organisations over the years and have had several articles on the subject published in fire trade press. Unique Features
Approximately 70% of the company’s turnover involves the installation and ongoing maintenance of hardwired analogue addressable systems; we are experienced with most manufacturers’ equipment and are one of the country’s leading distributors of Ziton products. This equipment is extremely competitively priced and has some unique features that offer distinct advantages to end-users. For example there is a unique self test feature that allows all the loop based sounders to be tested without having to gain access to individual areas. There is a microphone fitted onto the printed circuit board of each sounder that confirms a pass or a fall to the control panel immediately following a test. Ziton is the market leader in false alarm management and offers considerably enhanced protection against unwanted alarms.
Other Products
We are specialists in the installation and maintenance of fire suppression systems and I am sure that you are aware that all Halon systems have to be removed before the end of December 2003. TecServ UK offers replacement and alternative products including Co², FM200 and all of the inert blends including Argon and Argonite. We are distributors for the R102 restaurant fire suppression system and provide a full support service, offering refilling and integrity testing.
Radio Specialists
TecServ UK is probably the most experienced specialist radio fire company in the country. Many of our team have been working with radio since the mid-1980s, both as distributors and as direct employees of radio fire alarm manufacturers. Radio offers cost-effective and reliable alternative to hardwired systems which is especially important when the fabric of the building needs to be preserved, or cable routes are so torturous that installation costs escalate.

We have built a reputation for high-quality work in the fire and security field and in particular we have specialised in areas of fire protection that requires knowledge and experience that is over and above the average fire alarm installer’s capability.
