LEO Pride at Chad Award Winners

Advisers and Coaches from local business support organisation LEO, proved they have plenty of bite to their services, as they announced that five local businesses, recognised at November’s Chad Enterprise Awards 2009, had received LEO support.

A-Star Media’s Katrina Atherton, winner of the Young Business Person of the Year, and Highly Commended Businesses - Tineke Floral Designs, Purpose Media (UK), Building Block Solutions and Untapped Resource CIC Limited – have all benefited from ongoing support from their local LEO Business Adviser or Coach.

“We’re extremely proud to see five businesses we’ve supported walk up on stage to collect awards,” said John Hudson, LEO’s recently appointed Programme Director. “Our service to businesses usually keeps us out of the spotlight, and rightly so, but I think this deserves a bit of recognition of our own achievements too!”

LEO is a partnership organisation, offering free support to businesses operating – now and in the future - in Ashfield, Bolsover and Mansfield. Its team comprises of one lead Adviser in each district and six coaches spread across the region.

“Our advisers and our services are unique,” continued John. “Excellent credentials and a genuine passion to help local business people to succeed is undoubtedly the secret of our success,” he commented.

LEO is funded by the Local Enterprise Growth Initiative until March 2011 when alternative funding will be required to continue its local work. It is hoped that recognition via high profile business events, like the Chad Business Awards, will provide ongoing evidence of the successes it continually delivers locally
