Public Sector Plant Success

Public Sector Agencies - Local Government, the Health Service, Police, Fire Brigade etc – places a huge amount of business with private companies, spending over an estimated £450 billion each year.

LEO’s Procurement and Supply Chain Advisers provide support and advice to local businesses interested in selling to the public sector. In addition to one-to-one support, LEO has organised a number of group workshops to help local businesses navigate their way through the tendering process and to show them how to identify tendering opportunities.

Planterior

One of the most recent successes resulting from the support of the LEO procurement specialists is Planterior from Hodthorpe. Nr Creswell. Planterior offers a complete landscape maintenance service. Established in 1988, the business has grown to become on of the area’s most reputable commercial landscaping companies.

Ian Johnson from Planterior first contacted LEO Business Adviser David Heathcoat for advice on a planned businesses move and was then introduced to Supply Chain Co-ordinator David Dillon, who helped them identify tendering opportunities. "Having recently experienced a sudden downturn in business from our established commercial customers, I sought advice from David Heathcote,” said Ian.

“I was then introduced to David Dillon, whose help proved invaluable in our successfully tendering for a significant contract with Chesterfield Borough Council,”
“Any LEO business wanting to supply to the public sector should register on the Trading Zone on the LEO website - www.leobusiness.org - to view the latest tendering opportunities,” said David Dillon.
