Release, a charitable trust established in Bolsover in 2005, helps to release people from financial bondage and gives them a second chance in life.
It was formed by local man Paul Steers in response to the dire needs of many local people who were suffering from problems associated with debt and the fact that there was a complete lack of local support in the area.
Release now offers Financial Freedom Sessions, an imaginative project that will impact on hundreds of people, initially in the District of Bolsover but also potentially in Ashfield and Mansfield. The aim is to equip, empower and educate people in debt and money matters.
LEO, through Business Coach Steve Maxwell and Social Enterprise Development Officer Neil Daly, has been busy helping Release in a variety of ways. Social Enterprise has provided grant funding for the organisation and LEO is helping with marketing support, looking for new funding and income streams, preparing tendering bids and providing general business mentoring.

Finance For Business
Through an arrangement with Midlands Community Finance, a not-for-profit community finance development organisation, LEO offers loans for businesses that may be facing difficulties obtaining funding in the form of loans or overdrafts from banks.
First loans from £500 to £10,000 are available subject to status, and can be used to help cash flow or for capital purchases.
LEO’s business advisers will help businesses that wish to apply for a loan to prepare their applications and business plans for submission to Midlands Community Finance.
The Business Advisers also point businesses towards grants or other funding that may be available.
