Bidding for public sector work
Local Supply Chain Co-ordinator David Dillon has been working closely with two companies, helping them on the first steps to Public Sector tendering.
The first is Future Products, Mansfield-based manufacturer and supplier of PVCu windows.
“We were contacted by Paul Kirby, their Sales and Marketing Director, who had spotted an opportunity to tender for the supply of windows to a housing association with a stock of over 8000 properties,” explained David.

Future Products had no previous experience of public sector tendering and initially David prepared a profile on the business to establish its suitability to tender for the contract. He then helped guide Paul through the submission of the pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ).
The Archive Record Centre, a relatively new business located in Mansfield, is another organisation that has been taking advantage of the expert help available from LEO’s Public Procurement team.
Partners Daniel Adcock and Nathan Pisarskis, started by attending one of our ‘How to Tender” workshops and then when an opportunity for them to tender for Invoice Documentation Scanning arose they asked David to help guide them through the process.
“The terminology and use of acronyms in the Public Sector can be very confusing and we helped them through this. Daniel submitted his quotation and, although, they did not secure the contract this time, the feedback they received was very encouraging as their submission was viewed as being very professional. “They are now working on
another Public sector opportunity and we are again providing advice and support.”
