First aid courses in July
and August 2010
Thursday 22nd July 2010 and Tuesday 24th August 2010. 9.30am to 4.30am.
The courses will be run at Mansfield Superbowl 2000 and will cost £75 per person. The course is HSE accredited and certificates will be provided on completion of the course.
Emergency First Aid at Work
The aim of the Emergency First Aid at Work Course is to provide the learner with the essential skills and knowledge required to carry out emergency treatment necessary to save a life until further qualified assistance arrives to take over. This course also meets the Health and Safety Executive (First Aid) Regulations 1981 for first aiders in small, low risk environments. This course can be tailored to any work environment, including schools.
Course Content
• The role of the first aider
• Use of available equipment
• Actions in an emergency
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is:
- Unconscious
- Requires cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Who is choking
- Wounded and bleeding
- Suffering from shock
• Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries
Bolsover Events Programme
Business Link partnership with Derbyshire Economic Partnership (DEP) will be running a series of half day, business themed events throughout 2010/11.
These free workshops have been tailored to help real businesses prepare for the upturn and strengthen for long term survival.

This interactive half-day session is designed to help businesses understand their customers better and what can be done to improve their service offer and subsequently their own sales and profit performance.

Social Media and Website Workshop
This half-day workshop looking at social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn and how businesses can use these platforms to broaden their reach to customers as well as improve their online visibility.
27th July 2010, 09.00-13.00, Markham Vale Environmental Centre, Markham Vale
Writing Effective Tenders Workshop
This half-day workshop will aim to develop skills amongst businesses, in order to facilitate a level playing field when competing for public sector contracts. With public procurement estimated at £175 billion per annum, this represents a huge market opportunity.

Cash Flow, Forecasting and Debt Management Workshop
This half day event will cover tips to improve cash flow within a business from managing debtor terms to taking control of stock. It will also provide an overview of how to put together a realistic financial forecast, a ‘must have’ for any successful negotiation with banks.
